Conductivity and dissociation behaviour of Lactic acid in the aqueous solutions of poly(ethylene glycol) at different temperatures

In this study, influence of poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) on the electrical conductivity of L(+)-lactic acid (LaH) have been investigated. The molar conductivities of LaH in aqueous solutions of PEG were measured at T = (288.15-318.15) K. These data have been analyzed by Quint-Viallard (QV) conductivity equation and the limiting molar conductivities (Λ0), dissociation constants ( ), and Walden product (Λ oη) were calculated. The results indicate that the values of Λ 0 decrease by increasing concentration of PEG and increase by increasing temperature. Also, the Λ oη values decrease by increasing temperature which can be related to the dehydration of ions at higher temperatures.
