Synthesis of TiO2 nanorods on the transparent conductive oxide substrates for photoelectrochemical Generation of H2

In this work we synthesized TiO2 nanorods on the transparent conductive oxide substrate (FTO, fluorine doped tin oxide) and investigated photovoltaic properties of TiO2 nanorods under illumination. TiO2 photoanodes were synthesized using a hydrothermal method and annealed at 450 ˚C to obtain better crystallinity. FESEM image proves formation of the TiO2 nanorods and X-ray diffraction show that TiO2 nanorods are formed properly. Photoelectrochemical properties were measured using linear sweep voltammetry and chronoamperometry techniques at 0.5 M Na2SO4 as electrolyte.
