On the Calculation of Fugacity Coefficient of Thorium Using van der Waals Model

The accurate description of thermodynamic properties and regularities of fluids and solids have been a subject to active research, which has developed continuously during the several decades and will continue to do so. Equation of State (EOS) represents the cornerstone of thermodynamic models. In van der Waals model, compressibility factor (Z) includes the sum of attractive and repulsive terms (Z= Zrep + Zatt) and this model was the first equation to predict vapor-liquid coexistence. In this paper, we calculate fugacity coefficient for Thorium using some Equations of State (EOS). The EOSs are van der Waals type consist of van der Waals (vdW), Redlich-Kwong (RK) and Berthelot (B). All EOSs predict well the behaviour of fugacity coefficient of thorium qualitatively.
